Built by Edel Catamarans of France in 1996, FORCE MAJEURE has only had two owners from new and has only been used for light cruising.
Unlike the smaller Edel 35 which were mostly powered by outboard engines, the Edel 36 Aventure is powered by twin inboard diesels giving far greater autonomy and ability to cope with adverse wind conditions.
Large accommodation with four separate cabins, two heads, large saloon / galley, ample storage space in the cabins, cockpit and saloon, and safe access to the foredeck and trampoline makes this boat an ideal family cruiser.
The video shows the slightly smaller Edel 35 with single outboard, but shows the performance of the boat.
THIS BOAT IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS A ONE THIRD SHARE.

Both hulls have a companionway ladder from the deck into a vestibule. Aft of the vestibule is a double cabin, and forwards is a heads which then gives access to the forward cabin. On the port side, the forecabin is suitable as a single berth for one large person, or as a double berth for smaller adults or children. In the starboard forecabin there is an additional bunk, allowing up to three people to be accommodated depending on size. In addition, one person could also sleep in the saloon if required. The boat is therefore capable of sleeping up to 10 people, although 6 or 7 would be more normal.
GRP construction with three aluminium cross-beams. Originally designed and constructed to be demountable, this boat has never been demounted.
Unusually the Edel Aventure has a pod-type saloon on the bridgedeck, allowing safe and secure access between the saloon and the hulls to the mast, foredeck and trampoline.
The keels are low aspect ratio with wooden skids allowing the boat to dry out on firm sand or level stony ground with the rudders clear of the ground
