Built circa 1984. LOA 8.74m (28ft 8), Beam 3.1m(10ft 2), Draft 0.76m(2 ft 6), Air draft 2.56m(8ft 5)

Engine: Volvo Penta AQ D40A (circa 130hp) – 6 cyl. Diesel engine. Volvo outdrive leg.
Fuel Capacity 512 Litres. Estimated cruising speed around 9-10 knots.

This boat represents an affordable way into motor-cruising and while it has previously been cruised on inland waterways (River Humber), with a few tweaks, a good forecast and the right preparation and seamanship she could be cruised around our coastline – making cruises from Preston Marina to North Wales and Anglesey, the Isle Of Man or the Cumbria coast for example.

The boat is being offered by a senior gentleman whose health prevents him from using her, and is not able to supply much detailed information about the boat, so buyers are strongly recommended to make their own inspection.

The layout provides a V berth for 2 in the forecabin, a dinette which coverts to a double berth on the port side of the saloon and a sofa / single berth on the starboard side of the saloon.

The galley has a gas cooker / oven / grill. Gas fridge and sink with cold and hot water (from calorifier). The heads (toilet) compartment has a sea-toilet and basin with hot and cold running water with shower head attachment. The compartment has a shower drain.

She could be ideal on the lakes with the sea toilet blocked off and a chemi-loo put in place, or she could go back to the large rivers where she came from. She will need a new River Licence and BSS Certificate (these are not required here at Preston Marina). The boat is too large (beam and height) for local canals. If going to sea, we would recommend things like (in additional to usual portable safety and navigation equipment) fitting a VHF DSC Radio, GPS, a tender and perhaps an auxiliary outboard. Most of all we always recommend getting an independent professional marine survey prior to purchase.

UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2020 - The boat has been unused for around 18 months now, and is in need of a good clean, and some servicing and lots of barnacles removing from the underside and the propeller.

I (the broker) put 2 x brand new batteries on Angela B (she has 3 in total) in November 2020, and the engine started very easily for the first time in about 12 months.

I took her for a quick spin around the dock here. The engine ran very well, very smooth on 6 cylinders. The dock is not very big and there is not enough space to get up to full speed but I got 11 knots before running out of room. I am confident that with the barnacles removed and a good engine service she has more to give.

All the electricals and instruments seemed to work fine EXCEPT the RPM guage.

The cockpit canopy is sound but needs a clean, the upholstery seems undamaged (the cockpit bech seat needs a good clean). I would say that the vinyl "sunroof" in the hardtop above the helm could do with repair or replacement.

Inside the cabin seems really dry and in good order.

To reflect the slight TLC needed, the price of this boat has just been reduced to £14,999 - making her easily the best value DIESEL powered example of a Fariline Mirage 29 on the current market at the time of writing.
